Now in its sixth year, the annual Rockapalooza Festival is set to invade the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Jackson, Mich., on June 22, kicking off on June 21 with a free pre-party.
Several members of the hard rock community are mobilizing to help those in need by recording a benefit track to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The collective, which consists of Black Label Society's Zakk Wylde and JD Deservio, Sevendust's Morgan Rose, Candlebox's Kevin Martin and New York outfit the Infinite Staircase, will record the as-yet-untitled song with plans to release it as an iTunes exclusive on Jan. 8.
Candlebox are back in full force with a new album, ‘Love Stories and Other Musings,’ and lead singer Kevin Martin says the album’s inspiration came from a very different place in his life than it did when the band first broke out in the early '90s. He also offers a surprising list of metal acts among the bands that help inspire his songwriting.
Candlebox first introduced themselves to the world with their self-titled debut back in 1992, spawning smash hits like ‘You’ and ‘Far Behind.’ Two more albums, ‘Lucy’ and ‘Happy Pills,’ followed before the band went on hiatus in 2000.
‘The Best of Candlebox,’ released in 2006 reunited the band and for the first time in many years inspired them to write and record new music together resulting in 2008’s ‘Into the Sun.’
Candlebox are gearing up to release their new disc ‘Love Stories & Other Musings’ on April 3 and the band just released a new lyric video for the song ‘Believe In It.’ We recently spoke to singer Kevin Martin about the tune.
