The annual Decibel Magazine Tour has become an event for metal fans to heavily anticipate since the inaugural lineup was announced in 2012. After two solid bills, Decibel has delivered once again, as Carcass, the Black Dahlia Murder, Gorguts and Noisem have been confirmed to play the 2014 Decibel Magazine Tour.
Bill Steer of the veteran UK extreme metal band Carcass was the guest on Full Metal Jackie's radio show over the weekend. Steer discussed the band's new album, 'Surgical Steel,' their upcoming tour plans and more. If you missed Full Metal Jackie's show, check out her full interview with Bill Steer below:
Following a decade of inactivity, Carcass re-united in 2007 to bring their highly influential and pioneering extreme metal back to the stage. Naturally, when a classic band re-forms, fans are either eager or terrified that the band will release new music and risk tarnishing their legacy. Carcass didn’t exactly go out on a high note with ‘Swansong’ and felt the time was right to release an album their fans wanted and expected. With guitarist Michael Amott out of the picture, Jeff Walker and Bill Steer began writing what became ‘Surgical Steel.’
It's been a long, long 17 years since British extreme metal pioneers Carcass released a full-length album. Longtime fans are ready to sink their teeth into some new Carcass material and although Sept. 13 is the official release date for 'Surgical Steel,' you can hear the entire album right now.
A hearty congratulations is in order for Chimaira, who after defeating DevilDriver, scooped up their fourth consecutive Death Match win. The band's new single 'No Mercy' has been declared immortal in our Death Match Hall of Fame and the song will be added to Loudwire Metal Radio on heavy rotation. You know what this means! We've got two fresh tracks dueling in this week's match.
