Deftones continue to receive plenty of acclaim for their 'Koi No Yokan' album, with the disc making many year-end Top 10 critics lists, including a No. 1 spot on Loudwire's 10 Best Rock Albums of 2012. But the success for the band is bittersweet as they've been doing it without the services of longtime bassist Chi Cheng, who has mostly been in a comatose state since his 2008 car accident.
Chino Moreno is a busy man with a thirst for great music, and the Deftones vocalist says that while his band and the 'Koi No Yokan' album are his main priorities, he's also keeping himself occupied with various side projects in his spare time.
In a new interview, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno speaks about the writing process for the band's upcoming album 'Koi No Yokan' compared to various other releases and how he deals with the ailing state of his friend and bass player Chi Cheng.
Deftones frontman Chino Moreno is once again off the market. (Sorry, girls!) Moreno, 38, wed his longtime girlfriend Risa Mora in a ceremony in the thoroughly romantic locale of Hawaii last week. The couple swapped vows on Wednesday, March 7.
Deftones' singer Chino Moreno remains hard at work on songs other than those of his main band. The singer formed the side project ††† (which is pronounced "Crosses") with Far guitarist Shaun Lopez and they will issue a second EP, dubbed 'EP ††,' on Jan. 24. Their debut recording, called 'EP †,' was released for free, in exchange for providing your email address. However, to prep fans for this new EP, the duo has issued an ethereal, airy new song, called 'Prurien†.'
