The annual Summer Slaughter tour has long earned the distinction to call itself "the most extreme tour of the year." Every year, we look forward to learning the lineup for Summer Slaughter, and once again, the news has placed Chelsea grins on our metalhead faces.
Evil ran rampant in New York City on Saturday night (Apr. 19) as Behemoth, 1349, Goatwhore, Inquisition and Black Crown Initiate stormed the gates of Irving Plaza. With the Metal Alliance Tour in full effect and a sold-out crowd packing the venue, metalheads were in for a treat that would end in epic fashion.
The brutality of Goatwhore will pulverize us once again! The blackened death metal masters have just finished recording their sixth studio album with production from Hate Eternal frontman and longtime studio partner Erik Rutan. Even more interesting, Goatwhore and Rutan chose to go old-school and record the album onto analog tape.
The Metal Alliance tour is quickly becoming one of the most essential metal experiences in North America. Last year, the tour was heavy on thrash, but in 2014, the theme is black metal. Behemoth have just been announced as the tour's headlining act with Goatwhore, 1349, Inquisition and Black Crown Initiate supporting.
Street punk mainstays the Casualties and extreme metal mavens Goatwhore have teamed up for a short string of tour dates. Bringing Havok along for the ride, this lineup is a seriously strong addition of dates to the previously announced sturdy grouping of Goatwhore touring with 3 Inches of Blood, Revocation and Ramming Speed to follow.
Here comes yet another solid metal tour for 2013! New-school heavy metal heroes 3 Inches of Blood are set to hit the road with blackened death merchants Goatwhore to co-headline a North American tour starting April 10 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Near the end of the duo's string of dates, technical death metal band Revocation and heavy metal newcomers Ramming Speed will hop on to increase the tour's overall awesomeness.
