However, Loudwire recently spoke with percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan on the Revolver Golden Gods Black Carpet and he proclaimed that 2014 will feature a major return of the 'Knot!

Slipknot recently announced that they are headlining their very own festival called Knotfest, which will take place over two days in Iowa and Wisconsin in August. Now, percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan explains what motivated the band to launch the festival and why they chose those two locations.
It seemed only fitting that at this year’s Revolver Golden Gods Awards, members of Slipknot - Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson and M. Shawn Crahan - would be on hand to present the award in the brand new Paul Gray Best Bassist category. The award was named in honor of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray who died in May 2010 from a drug overdose.

Shawn “Clown” Crahan will be premiering his new photo book ‘Apocalyptic Nightmare Journey’ at the South By Southwest Music Festival next week in Austin, Texas. ‘Apocalyptic Nightmare Journey’ is a collection of Crahan’s photography, and more specifically his experimental works exploring darkness and light.

Hiring a clown for a university functions is a little absurd -- unless the clown is Slipknot percussionist M Shawn 'Clown' Crahan. The musician, who didn't graduate from college but has stated in interviews that he got his bachelor's, masters and doctorate degrees in the University of Rock 'n' Roll, will present a lecture called 'On Living Your Dreams, Slipknot & Life' this evening (Nov. 15) from 6-7 p.m. local time at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
