One of metal's biggest tours hit New York City on Friday night (Feb. 7) with Machine Head, Suicide Silence and Darkest Hour nearly blowing the roof off the Best Buy Theater. This current leg of 'The Eighth Plague' tour is Machine Head's first true headlining tour in nearly five years -- and the NYC crowd welcomed them with rabid enthusiasm.
Get ready to witness one of the most awesome live concert moments ever. During Machine Head's Jan. 29 set in Buffalo, N.Y., one kid brought a sign that read "Let this 13-year-old play 'Aesthetics of Hate' with you." After Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn saw the sign, he invited the kid up onstage and threw his axe around the teen's shoulder.
After successfully unleashing their signature brand of thrash and groove metal throughout Europe, Machine Head are ready to unleash the locusts in the North American leg of 'The Eighth Plague' tour. The band will be joined on the road by deathcore act Suicide Silence and metalcore outfit Darkest Hour.
The 'Rock of Love' bus may still be parked for Bret Michaels, but Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel and Bleeding Through keyboardist Marta Peterson are on the road to marriage. According to Blabbermouth, the Machine Head guitarist just revealed via his personal Facebook page that he and Peterson are officially engaged.
'Tis the season of metal-inspired Christmas light shows and we've got another one to cram under your tree. We recently posted suburban light shows for Slayer's 'Raining Blood' and Metallica's 'Enter Sandman,' so to continue this new holiday tradition, we give you Machine Head's classic track 'Impirium.'
Metal music has the power to possess people into doing things that don't particularly make sense -- notably, the shoe toss. In the heat of the moment, concertgoers risk getting their feet stomped into oblivion just so they can throw their shoes at their favorite band. Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel recently found himself at the receiving end of a shoe toss in Belgium -- walking off the stage after a blow to the head.
