Who: Overkill, Kreator + Warbringer
Another face-melting thrash tour will invade North American venues in the coming months. New Jersey thrash legends Overkill will co-headline dates with German thrash masters Kreator with opening act Warbringer in tow, making for one of the most must-see metal tours of 2013.
By far, one of our favorite musicians to speak with is Overkill vocalist Bobby Blitz. Always good-natured and full of energy, we spoke with Blitz only a few days before he was forced to drop off Overkill's tour with Testament due to a pneumonia diagnosis.
Overkill have been forced to drop off their 'Dark Roots of Thrash' tour with fellow legends Testament due to health issues with singer Bobby Blitz. Diagnosed with walking pneumonia, the wailing Overkill vocalist was unable to perform in Huntington, N.Y. on Feb. 15. Overkill remained hopeful that Blitz could return to the stage sometime during the tour, but Blitz's condition has worsened to the point where he can not perform.
Bobby Blitz of Overkill was the guest on Full Metal Jackie’s radio show this past weekend. The vocalist spoke about the band’s massive trek with Testament, as well as his feeling towards East Coast and West Coast thrash metal. He also talks about the evolution of Overkill’s music and their new younger audience. Read Full Metal Jackie’s interview with Bobby Blitz below:
