Pop Evil are wrapping up their video trilogy with 'Behind Closed Doors,' the third clip directed by Johan Carlen. Within the scope of the trilogy, the video is actually meant to be the first portion of a story that has been told in reverse, starting with 'Trenches' and 'Deal With the Devil.' All three songs appear on the band's 2013 album 'Onyx.'
It's been a banner year for Pop Evil, who earned their first chart-topper of their career with the hit single 'Trenches.' Now the song that fans have come to love is getting a fresh spin courtesy of rap icon, Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels, famously of hip-hop pioneers Run-DMC. The band turned over their song to DMC, and Loudwire is now bringing you the exclusive premiere of his 'Trenches' remix, which appears on the new super deluxe edition of Pop Evil's 'Onyx' album.
This weekend, Loudwire Radio host Mike 'Sandman' Sanders welcomes Pop Evil singer Leigh Kakaty to the show. Kakaty talks about the band's video trilogy, which most recently saw the premiere of the clip for 'Deal With the Devil.' He also discusses the band's latest album 'Onyx,' touring, baseball and more. Tune in this weekend to catch Leigh Kakaty on Loudwire Radio. In the meantime, check out the interview below:
In their new video for ‘Deal With the Devil,’ Pop Evil continue to work their way backwards with the second installment of their video trilogy. ‘Deal With the Devil’ follows in the harrowing footsteps of ‘Trenches,’ piecing the story together in reverse with only ‘Behind Closed Doors’ remaining.
Pop Evil’s latest disc ‘Onyx’ came out of the gates swinging with the first single ‘Trenches’ steadily climbing up the charts and eventually landing the No. 1 spot on the active rock radio chart. The accompanying video for ‘Trenches’ served as Part 3 of a trilogy, being told in reverse by the band, with Parts 1 and 2 still to come.
