Rock and metal music's greatest workaholic, Maynard James Keenan, has announced the upcoming release of new Puscifer material. Keenan is famous for his work with Tool and A Perfect Circle, but Puscifer is another beast entirely, mixing electronic elements with bizarre imagery and gorgeous songwriting.
As we reported a few days ago, Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer singer Maynard James Keenan has signed a deal with the Phoenix New Times to write a bi-weekly column for the newspaper. Now, Keenan has jumped into his role as a gonzo journalist, as the Phoenix New Times has published the first textual offering from the prolific creator.
Along with sharing vocal duties with Maynard James Keenan in the eclectic musical project Puscifer, British songstress Carina Round is also an accomplished solo artist. Round and her band just completed their intimate, 100% independent tour with a powerful show in New York at Brooklyn's Knitting Factory.
Following the massive success of both Tool and A Perfect Circle, Maynard James Keenan went back to the drawing table once again to open a new creative vein. Known for his deeply personal and experimental style, Keenan began Puscifer in 2003, and created a masterpiece with 'Conditions of My Parole' in 2011.
Puscifer's Carina Round on Working WIth Maynard Keenan + More
Maynard James Keenan has been met with criticism due to his staunch views on not allowing pictures or video to be taken by fans during Tool, A Perfect Circle or Puscifer shows. With widespread Internet access covering the entire globe, fans can now know the exact set list, special effects and all the other intricate parts of a band's live show. It's frustrating for fans not to document their concert experience with their cameras, but after seeing Puscifer's live show, we 100-percent agree with what Keenan is trying to preserve.
