Armed with a brigade of rock, metal and electronic talent, Orion Music + More festival kicked off its weekend-long festival at Belle Isle in Detroit on Saturday (June 8), with Red Hot Chili Peppers closing out the evening.

There are an incredible amount of hard rock and metal music festivals held worldwide as the summer season stretches from May to September. There's Mayhem, Rock on the Range, Reading, Leeds, Download, Hellfest, Wacken and Bloodstock, just to name a few. But for connoisseurs of punk rock who are looking for a major festival, an incredible lineup has just been put together for the 2013 Amnesia Rockfest in Quebec, Canada, with some hard rock and metal sprinkled in, as well.
For a band like Rise Against, the creative process is always ongoing, but frontman Tim McIlrath says that it may actually be a little while before we hear from them again. The singer tells Rolling Stone that the group wants to "recharge" a bit before starting in on a new record.

Rise Against got a little help from a couple of friends for a star-studded rendition of the Bruce Springsteen song 'The Ghost of Tom Joad' in Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday night (Sept. 29).
