Scott Weiland will begin 2013 as a solo artist. The frontman, who made overtures about reuniting with Velvet Revolver last year only to have Slash publicly rebuke them and reveal that the singer had once again parted ways with Stone Temple Pilots, is hitting the road next month.

Scott Weiland is back in the creative spirit, working on new music, though it is not known as of yet where it will turn up. The singer is also reportedly mapping out some tour dates for 2013, with an announcement expected soon.

Slash has further refuted Scott Weiland's claims that the singer is returning to the Velvet Revolver fold to record a new album and to embark on a tour. He essentially said that while he loves Weiland, he doesn't want to be in a band with him ever again. That sounds pretty definitive!

Velvet Revolver have gone through a proverbial spinning of the cylinder as former vocalist Scott Weiland and current guitarist Slash have been sending completely opposite messages to fans. Just as Weiland insisted that he was once again a member of the band, the claims were swatted down by Slash.
