Exclusive: Watch Shinedown Rock Their Hit ‘Bully’ From ‘The Warner Sound Live Room EP’
Back in January of 2012, Shinedown frontman Brent Smith issued a bit of a challenge to rock fans asking them to rise up, take a stand and declare the return of rock. Since that time, Shinedown has been proudly carrying the torch, bringing their formidable live show from coast to coast with a force fueled by the fists of a legion of loyal rockers.
We may not have been in the room when Shinedown recorded their latest single, 'I'll Follow You,' but the band is giving fans a pretty close representation of how it might have gone down. The band recently visited Warner Sound's 'The Live Room' at Henson Studios where they set up shop and performed the track.
Shinedown and Three Days Grace may be co-headlining their current tour, but the third act on the bill isn't exactly your average opener. Veteran hard rock outfit P.O.D. has been playing alongside the two bands throughout both legs of their touring, making for a solid trifecta of rock acts. P.O.D.'s sets are making it worthwhile to get there early, and the band has enjoyed a set crossover of late with Shinedown's Zach Myers joining their performances to play their cover of U2's 'Bullet the Blue Sky.'
As far as physical professions go, being a musician is usually one of the most injury free occupations you could choose. Still, there are the occasional accidents that happen on the road and Shinedown bassist Eric Bass is feeling the effects of a performance mishap last night (March 22) in Lubbock, Texas.
“You left me here like a chalk outline” – the chorus to the first single off of Three Days Grace latest disc ‘Transit of Venus’ rang out almost prophetic in nature as the band took the stage to ravage a rock-hungry New England crowd on a freezing February evening in Lowell, Mass., on Wednesday (Feb. 20).
It's an inspirational message versus an in-your-face proclamation in this 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl matchup. This first round pairing sees Avenged Sevenfold attempting to 'Seize the Day' against Shinedown, who appear ready to 'Devour' their new foes.
Who: Shinedown, Three Days Grace + P.O.D.
You wouldn't know it by looking at him today, but there was a period not too long ago that Shinedown singer Brent Smith was struggling with both drug and alcohol addiction, as well as weight issues. Part of the reason Smith is built as well as he is these days is due to his newfound commitment to his health, and he discussed his transformation with the Los Angeles Times.
It's guaranteed to be one of the hottest tickets of early 2013, with Shinedown and Three Days Grace setting out on a co-headlining trek. Add in rock vets P.O.D. and you've got a truly special music package. Now, what if we told you that you could win a pair of tickets to the show of your choice on the upcoming trek? Sounds pretty great, huh?!
