The Swedish Viking horde Amon Amarth will make a triumphant return to North America in September. Opening the shows will be fellow Swedes Sabaton and the American band Skeletonwitch.
Skeletonwitch's music may be dark, brutal and extreme, but offstage their members have a soft spot for animals. As pet owners themselves, they are showing support for a couple of animal related charities with a limited edition, hand-screened 180-gram vinyl edition of their 2013 album 'Serpents Unleashed.'
A decade into their career, Skeletonwitch are running stronger than ever. The band is living proof that hard work will bring you success if you've got the belly for it. Of course, solid material is important as well and Skeletonwitch will release their fifth studio album, 'Serpents Unleashed,' on Oct. 29. We recently had a chat with guitarist Scott Hedrick to delve into all things Skeletonwitch.
With their fourth consecutive win in our series of Death Matches, Incantation were able to defeat Suffocation to gain entry into the Death Match Hall of Fame. Congrats to the brutal band as their track 'Invoked Infinity' has been declared immortal! Although we won't be hearing from Incantation in this Death Match, we've got two new acts ready for battle.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." - Peter 5:8.
The lucky children of Brooklyn, N.Y., were fortunate enough to experience a ritual from Ghost (Ghost B.C.) on the night of Sunday, July 29. The heavy metal cult brought the entire 'Opus Eponymous' album (sans 'Deus Culpa') and the meat of 'Infestissumam' for an unforgettable performance at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
