Two of rock's biggest bands -- Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden -- have announced that they're teaming up for a co-headlining 2014 North American summer tour! The trek kicks off July 19 in Las Vegas and runs through an Aug. 25 gig in Los Angeles.
Soundgarden may be back as a fully functioning, modern act releasing new tunes, but the legendary group opted for a bit of nostalgia Thursday night (March 13) in Austin, Texas. As promised, the band delivered their 1994 classic 'Superunknown' in full to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Twenty years after the release of 'Superunknown,' Soundgarden plan to play the album live from front to back for the first time ever. They'll do it at the iTunes Festival during South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, on March 13. The show will be streamed live via iTunes.
Soundgarden's 'Superunknown' was one of the great albums of the '90s, and fans will get a chance to dig a little deeper into that classic release for its 20th anniversary. That's because Soundgarden are preparing a massive 20th Anniversary reissue that will arrive on June 3 through A&M Records/UME.
Scary news concerning Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. According to a recent news report, a Seattle woman has been charged for allegedly tweeting death threats to the rock singer. The woman is said to have written over 100 messages to Cornell from a total of nine different Twitter accounts.
Let’s face it, Matt Cameron is one busy man. As drummer for two rock juggernauts – both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden – there was bound to be some overlap in their touring schedules. With the careers of both bands currently flourishing, that time has come, and Cameron has revealed his plans for 2014.
Back in 1990, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell was the creative force behind the band Temple of the Dog in tribute to his lost friend and Mother Love Bone frontman Andrew Wood who passed away the same year. Temple of the Dog was a musical juggernaut chock full of talent with Stone Gossard on guitar, Jeff Ament on bass (both former members of Mother Love Bone) along with Matt Cameron and Eddie Vedder. A super group by definition, the collective released one self-titled disc and only played live one time together.
