Filming is about to get underway on the upcoming movie 'Army of the Damned' with Godsmack's Sully Erna playing one of the lead roles. In the film, he's a police sheriff named Bridge who uncovers more than he bargained for when answering a domestic disturbance call. Erna, making his feature film debut, has been taking part in rehearsals and some of the first photos from the film with the singer in his role have surfaced online. They can be seen below.
Godsmack's time off is giving the band members to spread their wings a little and explore some of their passions. For frontman Sully Erna, that means he's getting the opportunity to branch out to the big screen. The vocalist has signed on to make his feature film acting debut in the upcoming Woodhaven Pictures film 'Army of the Damned.'
Godsmack's Sully Erna is proud of his deeply personal solo record 'Avalon,' so much so that he's planned special trips for a handful of fans that purchased the box set edition of his disc. Erna included "golden tickets" with select box sets that would provide the winner with one of five luxury trips to a special location. The cameras joined Sully and his significant other Joanna as they met with the first winner -- Jeremy Hodge Costello and his girlfriend Carlye -- at California's Catalina Island just last week (March 1-3).
Godsmack's planned year-long break in the schedule is not only giving frontman Sully Erna a chance to pursue his solo career, but he's also taking the time to revive one of his other passions -- poker.
Godsmack may be taking some time off, but that doesn't mean that Sully Erna is slowing down any. The vocalist has just announced six new East Coast solo shows where he'll continue to promote his 'Avalon' solo album.
While Godsmack spent much of 2012 out on the road as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival with Shinedown and the Mass Chaos tour with Staind, the band is set to enjoy some downtime in 2013.
