Loudwire has teamed up with Consequence of Sound's Rock It Out! Blog to bring you the biggest and best hard rock and heavy metal news all in one place! In this first video recap, we speak with Rock It Out! Blog's Sami Jarroush about Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, Judas Priest and Tool!
Tool fans are more rabid than ever for a new album. The brilliant act released '10,000 Days' in 2006, but ever since, there has been a brutal drought of Tool material. Rumblings of writing sessions have been widely covered, but in each update, vocalist Maynard James Keenan had not yet entered into the band's writing process. However, it seems like that may have changed.
The authorized biography of Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen was released on July 9 and the book features perhaps the most insane rockstar stories ever compiled. Jourgensen is in the same league as Ozzy Osbourne when it comes to wild experiences, and during our recent chat with Tool / Volto! drummer Danny Carey, we asked the percussionist to verify one of our personal favorite tales from the book.
Tool stickman Danny Carey is widely known as one of the finest drummers in rock and metal. The percussionist's skill behind the kit is nearly unmatched, providing complex and brilliantly composed foundations to Tool's entire unique discography. Carey has now taken his precision to the project Volto! and we recently spoke to Carey all about his new instrumental band.
Currently, in the world of rock, there is perhaps no album more anticipated than Tool's fifth full-length disc. Both vocalist Maynard James Keenan and drummer Danny Carey have commented on the possibility of a 2013 release throughout this year, the duo having even offered conflicting expectations at times. However, with the year more than half over, Danny Carey now reveals that a 2013 release for Tool's next album is highly unlikely.
For a while now, we've been lamenting our own childhoods; not for any profound reasons, but simply because Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star didn't exist when we were infants. For a few years now, the company has been turning the world's most popular music into lullabies for your restless children, with Tool being the latest to receive the TTLRS treatment.
In response to the tornadoes that recently hit Oklahoma, Tool / A Perfect Circle / Puscifer singer Maynard James Keenan has reached out to help the state's Animal Resource Center. The center was damaged by the tornadoes, so to raise money for the Animal Resource Center's recovery, Keenan is auctioning off the platinum plaques he received for Tool's 'Undertow' and A Perfect Circle's 'Mer de Noms.'
