There's pretty much no chance anything will ever stop the Melvins from releasing new music. Which is a good thing, because today the band dropped a new ripper, "What's Wrong With You" from their upcoming album, A Walk With Love & Death, due out July 7.

The song is Melvins at their best, combining elements of punk rock and sludge together in subtle ways, creating a track both weird and traditional. You can follow along with the poppy verses, the band almost making fun of the listener with how straight forward they are. But when you get used to the sound, they throw you a curve ball of noise and out of control guitar. The tones on everything sound perfect, the band able to laser focus into a smooth sound. Vocals were helped along by Steven McDonald, known for his tenure in bands like Redd Kross and Off.

Of the song and Steven, Melvins frontman Buzz Osborne says, "We love Steven! 'What's Wrong with You' is a great addition to our long Melvins catalog," he says. "There's no other song on this record that sounds like it and that's what makes it so cool!”

The songs leading up to their upcoming A Walk With Love & Death album have all been on point so far. Last month we premiered their lead single "Christ Hammer," an equally explorative track that coalesced together all the genres they've dabbled in, into one driving force. The double album consists of two very different sides of the band. On the Death side, you're treated to another classic Melvins album, and on the Love side, the band puts down the score for Jesse Niemen's upcoming short film also titled A Walk With Love & Death.
