Trivium have much to celebrate about, as their fifth studio release, ‘In Waves,’ debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

In a press release, frontman Matt Heafy says, “Trivium wants to thank our amazing fans around the globe both old and new for their support of our latest project 'In Waves.' We’re blown away by the worldwide fan reaction and without you none of this is possible."

‘In Waves’ sold more than 22,000 copies in its first week of release, and also landed at the No. 1 spot on the hard-rock album tally. In addition, it scored high debuts on several international charts.

“It’s great to see metal make it into the global album charts where some say metal music doesn’t belong but this says it’s alive and well,” Heafy continues.

Hot off a main-stage stint on this summer’s Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, as well as their recent performance at Germany’s Wacken Open Air Music Festival, Trivium’a hard work and busy touring schedule has clearly paid off.

“Through all the travel and about nine hours of sleep in total, it was completely worth it to spread the word of ‘In Waves’ and live and breathe the music with our fans," adds Heafy.
