Another new performance video has surfaced of the newly reunited David Lee Roth-fronted Van Halen, dubbed ‘The Downtown Sessions,’ and shot right at Roth’s home.

The video starts out with a special Diamond Dave intro, welcoming fans in typical DLR fashion, “David Lee live in front of your naked steaming eyes, we’ve got a new film for ya. It’s ‘You Really Got Me,’ and it’s the first time Van Halen has ever recorded live, much less, downtown style on an acoustic guitar.”

The video, perhaps part of the deluxe packaging of their upcoming album, shows an intimate live acoustic performance of the Kinks classic ‘You Really Got Me,’ which Van Halen also turned into a classic of their own back in the '70s. It’s hard to harness the trademark VH energy but this acoustic performance shows off a whole new side of the band and their historic chemistry. As hard as it was for David Lee Roth to sit down through one whole song, he seemed to manage!

Roth told Yahoo! Music! that, "Culturally our new video is old school meets new school. Kind of like watching Dragnet on your iPad."  Check the video out below and let us know if you agree?

Van Halen's new album, 'A Different Kind of Truth,' is due out on Feb. 7. Fans can read our review of the disc's first single, 'Tattoo,' here. Van Halen's tour kicks off in mid-February, check out all the dates here.
