Things are thrilling in the Motley Crue camp, as the band gears up for the first-ever rock band residency in Las Vegas. However, despite all the hoopla and history making coinciding with the Feb. 3-19 stay in Sin City, singer Vince Neil said he is considering splitting from the band after the Vegas shows wrap.

Neil, 50, has had a busy 2011, having finalized a divorce and embarking on one of the Crue's most successful world tours ever. While on vacation in the Bahamas, Neil tells the Las Vegas Sun that the residency could very well be his swan song. Is it something he is just saying to drum up more publicity for the residency or he is seriously considering bouncing? Maybe he wants to go out on top?

Neil explains, "I’m having a great time here -- I could stay a year! I’m sitting on my yacht, contemplating my future, and I'm not sure it will be with Motley Crue after Las Vegas. Great things are coming up and pushing me in another direction."

The singer, who split from the Crue in 1992, could be going through a bit of a mid-life crisis. He says, "This is all about me thinking about the second half of my life, thinking about my future, and that future might not include Motley Crue after Vegas. There are so many opportunities that are in front of me that I’m really excited about. I just don’t want to look back later in life and regret that I didn’t pursue them."

He continues, “I’m just not sure I can give these opportunities the time and effort I’ll need to and continue with the band. It’s been a great ride, and I've enjoyed every second of it, but being out here relaxing in this beautiful place has given me the chance to reflect on what direction I want the rest of my life to take. I'm really giving it a lot of thought.”

Neil has not rendered a final decision yet. That should come after the residency is in the books. Perhaps the Vegas stand will reinvigorate his passion for the Crue.
