Within Temptation Confront Threatening Future in ‘The Reckoning’ Video

Earlier this month, symphonic metal vets Within Temptation announced that their eighth album, Resist, would be released before year's end. Along with the announcement came the new single, "The Reckoning," which featured a guest appearance from Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix and now the band has released a music video for the song.

This clip has a post-apocalyptic feel as frontwoman Sharon den Adel walks through a mountainous landscape, flanked by white-clad men brandishing white flags. They encroach a futuristic stretch of desert occupied by mechanized pillars capable of shooting laser beams. The group, clearly in pursuit of something, come upon a UFO which threatens to abduct the singer, but the white-clad men manage to bring the craft down.
