Last year was another solid year for metal with standout albums from Power Trip, Mastodon, Cannibal Corpse, Body Count and a bunch of others and 2018 is keeping the powder keg momentum moving forward.

Coming into the year, everyone was anticipating new albums from Tool and Rammstein (and that was the story last year, and the year before that, and the year before that...) and while there is still no official word on either of those albums, it was Judas Priest that had headbangers on their toes with the promise of their 18th album.

While the Metal Gods have rightfully garnered a lot of attention with Firepower, other acts like Black Label Society, Ministry, SleepTribulation, Ghost and more that have made some noise as well with dozens more still on the horizon.
