Aerosmith + Slash Reveal ‘Let Rock Rule’ 2014 North American Tour Dates
The cat was let out of the bag a few weeks ago that Aerosmith and Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators would be teaming up for a summer tour. Slash and a couple of Aerosmith members confirmed the pairing via Twitter. Now the cities and dates for the trek have been announced (see below).
The ‘Let Rock Rule’ Tour kicks off July 10 in Wantagh, N.Y. There are at least three days between every show, and Slash and his band will fill up several of those dates with yet-to-be-announced headlining shows. The trek winds up two months later on Sept. 12 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
“Aerosmith is one of my all time favorite bands, and one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time,” says Slash in a press release. “It’s an honor for me to go out and tour with them and keep the rock ‘n’ roll banner flying high.”
Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler adds, “Looking forward to inciting a riot and building the tribal bonfire even higher — it’s a win win with Slash,” while guitarist Joe Perry comments, “The writing’s on the wall — Aerosmith and Slash. We’re gonna let rock rule this summer. Catch us if you can.”
Pre-sales begin Thursday, April 10 at 10AM local time at Slash Online. In addition to tickets to the show, pre-sale packages include an exclusive autographed Slash lithograph and a digital download of the upcoming Slash album. Tickets are available to the entire public on April 12 at LiveNation.com.
Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators are hard at work on their latest album. Kennedy finished the first vocal a few weeks back, with the as-yet-untitled disc scheduled to be released in September.
In the latest of a series of behind the scenes videos (watch below), Slash, Kennedy and producer Elvis Baskette talk about the recording process. “He’s such a great singer,” Slash says. “And when you give him something that he puts his heart and soul into, it is really magic.”
“The kind of music that this band creates, and the style he has as a guitar player really, I feel like, is a wonderful canvas for me to get to sing over,” Kennedy says.
