Myles Kennedy has made quite a name for himself fronting Alter Bridge and most recently, Slash and the Conspirators. In a new interview, the ambitious vocalist reveals that he has a solo album lying in wait as well.

This year is going to be a big one for Myles Kennedy — 2012′s first release featuring the singer/guitarist will be Alter Bridge’s forthcoming ‘Live at Wembley’ DVD/CD.’ “It wasn’t only a special night because of where we were, but the people who came to the show helped to make it special,” Myles says to Artist Direct about the show. “When you’re playing to that many people, you never know how they’re going to react. They gave us the gift of helping make a night that was to be remembered.”

Kennedy’s powerful vocals and guitar skills will also be showcased on the upcoming Slash record, ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ and its supporting tour. “Most of [the record] was written on the road. That was really challenging, but in a good way,” Kennedy says of working with Slash and The Conspirators. “We do feel like there’s a certain chemistry between all of us. We all really enjoy playing music with each other.”

In addition to an already busy year, Kennedy reveals that there is one more project he’d love to get off the ground soon — a solo record. “It’s all recorded. I just need to track the vocals and get it mixed. I hope to get it done because I spent a lot of time working on it and it’s a different side of me as far as the creative aspect goes,” tells Kennedy. “I’m proud of that record. I think it’s an honest representation of where I was at that point in my life and how I felt musically and emotionally. Hopefully, I’ll get it out there one day.”

Slash’s upcoming record, ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ is set for release on May 22.
