Today in rock and metal news, the music world is mourning the loss of former Deep Purple and Whitesnake keyboardist Jon Lord, who passed away Monday morning at the age of 71 from a pulmonary embolism. Members of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Slash were among those paying their respects to Lord for his classic work. Meanwhile, Randy Blythe's supporters are heading to the Supreme Court where they'll hold a vigil in hopes of spurring political action to get the Lamb of God singer freed from the Czech Republic.

It's also a big day for new music. Green Day's got a new lyric video to share for their single 'Oh, Lord'; Pierce the Veil show off their new song 'I'm Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket' (not to mention their CD giveaway), and Motley Crue serve up their 'Sex' single free for a 24-hour period (Better check it out now!).
