Dun! Dun-dun-dun! Dun-dun-dun! Dun-dun-duuuun! Now that we've got your attention and forced "Eye of the Tiger" to be stuck in your head for the rest of the day, it's time to check out an intriguing cover of the Survivor classic. Devil You Know are preparing for the release of their sophomore album, They Bleed Red, out Nov. 6 on Nuclear Blast, and what better way to get pumped about it than by checking out the band's fist-raising metalcore spin on one of the most anthemic songs in rock history?

From the first note, it is quite clear this is going to be one heavy interpretation as Devil You Know inject plenty of their own flavor to make this song theirs. With crushing groove and playful guitar melodies, the band brings a new kind of fun to "Eye of the Tiger." When the mood is set, frontman Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage) enters the ring, belting out his soaring cleans that trade blows with his aggressive screams.

The song premiere comes courtesy of Billboard, to which drummer John Sankey described how the cover came to fruition. Mentioning how Jones showed up to the studio in a shower robe, he went on to say, “[He] started shadow boxing in the vocal booth while doing his best Rocky Balboa impersonation. It was so impressive that we immediately knew we had to do a cover of the infamous Rocky soundtrack theme 'Eye of the Tiger.'"

Already debating covering a song, he added, “In that moment, when HoJo literally transformed himself into the Italian Stallion right in front of our very eyes, we knew it was the perfect choice!”

Each band member decided to take on a persona from the Rocky movies that best suited them to help get into the spirit of covering the song. Sankey recalled, “We entered the studio swinging wildly in all directions with our respective instruments and there was blood, sweat and many tears, mainly of uncontrollable laughter." They managed to survive the studio madness and the drummer said, “Hours later we emerged victorious and super-slow-motion high-fived each other in classic Rocky fashion as we listened back to the sweet metal sounds of a reformed Survivor classic. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do."

Fans looking to pre-order They Bleed Red can do so through iTunes or the Nuclear Blast merch site. Devil You Know will be touring Europe in support of Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach and a full tour listing can be found on the band's Facebook page.

Devil You Know formed in 2012 and is comprised of ex-members of Killswitch Engage, Bleeding Through and All Shall Perish as well as the longtime stickman of Australian technical death metal outfit Devolved. They Bleed Red is the successor to last year's debut album, The Beauty of Destruction.
