Fieldy vs. Paul Gray – Greatest Metal Bassist, Round 2

The Round 2 battle in the Greatest Metal Bassist tournament features a popular nu-metal pioneer up against one of modern metal's most beloved musicians, who sadly left this world far too soon.

Korn's Fieldy showed Godflesh's G.C. Green the door after collecting nearly 80% of the votes in their matchup. His hip-hop inspired rhythms and various playing styles helped Korn take outside influences and integrate them into their groundbreaking nu-metal sound, making the band masters of their genre.

The late Paul Gray already had a tough matchup, defeating System of a Down's Shavo Odadjian in a competitive first round battle. As one of Slipknot's main songwriters, Gray propelled the band to new heights and his presence is sorely missed after his tragic passing in 2010.
