Year one was a success, so hard music and tattoo fans will get a second INKCARCERATION Festival next summer. Organizers have revealed that the weekend of July 12-14 has been set aside for the festival's return to the Historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio.

Last year's event featured Rise Against, A Day to Remember, Bush, Black Label Society, Suicidal Tendencies, DevilDriver and a wealth of others. In addition to all the music, a stellar lineup of tattoo artists were also on hand to display their work and apply fresh ink for those looking to add to their body canvas.

"We had a blast at INKCARCERATION at the Shawshank Prison... great festival, great location," said Suicidal Tendencies' Mike Muir about the inaugural event. "We were really excited about [performing] beforehand, and afterward we thought it was even better! Great people, great time... hopefully y'all will be coming back years and years later!" DevilDriver's Dez Fafara added, "INKCARCERATION was truly one of the best fests I've played. The lineup, the location, the catering, and the crew were all top notch and the Devildriver show was on fire thanks to the rowdiest crowd of the day! We are appreciative of the invite and would return in a heartbeat!"

The artist lineup for 2019 will be revealed in January, but a video teaser can be seen below.

The Ohio State Reformatory may be familiar to some for its usage in the Oscar-nominated film The Shawshank Redemption. The 1994 film is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2019, with the reformatory's Creative Marketing Director Dan Smith stating, "The Reformatory is thrilled for the return of the INKCARCERATION Music and Tattoo Festival in 2019. We had the chance to take a behind the scenes look at the upcoming lineup for this year and it is epic. You are not going want to miss this! Summer months are made to be enjoyed outdoors, and we can't think of a better time than with live music and the opportunity to get a tattoo right here at the Shawshank Prison. Come prepared for a great time that you'll be talking about all year."

You'll want to stay tuned to Loudwire in the lead-up to the line up announcement as we're teaming up with the INKCARCERATION Festival for a 10-episode video series featuring some rock and metal legends sharing the stories behind their most famous tattoos. The first episode will air this coming Tuesday (Nov. 20).
