Lamb of God Tease Seventh Studio Album
Lamb of God fans, it's time to get excited. The band has teased their next studio album in the most 21st Century of ways -- by launching their own Instagram account, posting a photo of equipment and offering up a hashtag #lambofgodVII.
Of course, the latter refers to the band's seventh studio album under the Lamb of God moniker, which the band reportedly began working on in late 2014 and early 2015. Check out the initial post on the Lamb of God Instagram account at this location.
While the band has gotten a late start on Instagram, their frontman Randy Blythe has almost exclusively been using the social media platform for his posting over the last couple of years. But while he's been doing so, he's kept his account to more of a personal nature rather than relaying band info. He penned a lengthy explanation about it and directed fans that want to discuss Lamb of God info to the new Instagram account. Check out his posting below.
Most of you know I don't ever talk about my day job here- it's not me being a dick, or snotty- in fact I interact with fans here quite often & openly discuss just about everything under the sun EXCEPT my band. This is for two reasons: #1. Talking about my band is boring as hell for me. Imagine talking about your job ALL THE TIME. I know people who are not in bands who talk about nothing but their job ALL THE TIME, & it makes me want to tear my hair out listening to them- SHUT UP ABOUT WORK. IT'S JUST WORK. LET'S TALK ABOUT LIFE, and, #2. In showing different aspects of my life & what I am interested in OTHER THAN BEING A BAND DUDE, I am trying to demystify the whole "rockstar" thing, because it is BULLS--T. No one, no matter how hard they try to portray themselves as some sort of rockstar, is ANYTHING other than a HUMAN BEING. The rockstar crap just means you have a SOMETIMES interesting job (& I do stress the "sometimes" aspect strongly, because a lot of the time being in a band is boring as hell). So this is not a "lamb of god" account, I don't post lamb of god photos or talk about my band here, & I ain't about to start. HOWEVER... there is a lamb of god Instagram account now, and it is an official one: @lambofgod. So anyone with band questions or wanting to see band stuff- GO THERE & post away to your heart's content. Someone (& it's not me putting up posts- that is the truth) has started posting new stuff there starting today, or so I am told via the band grapevine. Hmmmmmm......
Late last fall, Blythe hinted that writing had begun on a new album, stating in an interview, "What the guys have been writing sounds pretty monstrous thus far."
Drummer Chris Adler also chimed in in early 2015 with additional comments on the writing process. He stated that both guitarists Willie Adler and Mark Morton came in with about 50 song ideas. He added, "I've noticed the guys are really writing the kind of stuff that … the melodies of the ideas really stick with me, which is one of the things that, if I were to ever complain about more of the recent stuff that I've been buying music-wise … it's great while I'm listening to it, I'm impressed, it's over my head, it blows me away, but when I'm done with it, I couldn't tell you how it goes."
Adler added, "Our goal is, you know, that the guys that’ll write the songs that stick with you are the guys that are gonna stick around. So I’m really impressed with what these guys have been doing on a songwriting level — stepping it up and writing stuff that kinda sticks with you.”
Stay tuned for new music updates and look for the band on tour overseas and in the U.S. in the coming months. See their dates here.
