Linkin Park have been hammering away at new music in the studio for quite a while now, keeping fans updated but still in the dark along the way. The wait looks to be coming to an end with the album cover and lyrics to a new song, "Heavy," unearthed.

Official "ambassadors" of the band worked together on social media to obtain the information and Linkin Park confirmed the news as true by posting the discoveries on their Twitter page.

"Heavy" will feature a guest vocal spot from hip-hop / electro-R&B artist Kiara Saulters, better known under the recording name Kiiara. The lyrics, which were originally posted at Genius, can be seen below.

The words are pained, struggling to deal with emotional weight, inner conflict and paranoia. At the beginning of last year, Mike Shinoda explained how Linkin Park were striving to do something different with this next album. The band inverted the writing process, starting with the vocals rather than writing lyrics and melodies last after the music itself had already been composed.

I don’t like my mind right now
Stacking up problems that are so unnecessary
Wish that I could slow things down
I wanna let go but there’s comfort in the panic
And I drive myself crazy
Thinking everything's about me
Yeah I drive myself crazy
Cause I can’t escape the gravity

I'm holding on
Why is everything so heavy
Holding on
So much more than I can carry
I keep dragging around what's bringing me down
If I just let go, I'd be set free
Holding on
Why is everything so heavy

You say that I'm paranoid
But I’m pretty sure the world is out to get me
It’s not like I make the choice
To let my mind stay so f--king messy
I know I'm not the center of the universe
But you keep spinning round me just the same
I know I'm not the center of the universe
But you keep spinning round me just the same

I'm holding on
Why is everything so heavy
Holding on
So much more than I can carry
I keep dragging around what's bringing me down
If I just let go, I'd be set free
Holding on
Why is everything so heavy

I know I'm not the center of the universe
But you keep spinning round me just the same
I know I'm not the center of the universe
But you keep spinning round me just the same
And I drive myself crazy
Thinking everything’s about me

I'm holding on
Why is everything so heavy
Holding on
So much more than I can carry
I keep dragging around what's bringing me down
If I just let go, I'd be set free
Holding on
Why is everything so heavy

In September, frontman Chester Bennington gave an update from the studio, stating, "I’ve been working really hard on some vocals for the last couple of months. And we’ve done some really great stuff in here. The songs are amazing. I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished in the studio so far. We’ve got a lot of great material that I hope challenges our fanbase as well as inspires them as much as it has us. And so I’m really looking forward to you guys hearing the stuff. It’s, like, super, super exciting.”
