Megadeth's official mascot, Vic Rattlehead, is certainly a favorite coming into March Metal Mascot Madness. The menacing skeletal being was created through the proverb, "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil." Fittingly, Vic's eyes, ears and mouth have been sealed with metal plates.

We were first introduced to Vic Rattlehead on Megadeth's debut album, Killing Is My Business… And Business is Good. Rattlehead appeared on the band's next three album covers. After a decade out of the spotlight, Vic returned for The World Needs a Hero in 2001 and has since been seen prominently on The System Has Failed and Th1rt33n.

Swedish metal act HammerFall has a dangerous mascot standing by. A paladin named Hector (shout out to all the Dungeons and Dragons fans out there) has protected the gates of HammerFall for the better part of two decades, appearing first on the cover for Glory to the Brave.

Out of nine studio albums, just one cover has been sans Hector -- 2011's Infected. But never fear, the warrior returned in 2014 for (r)Evolution. Fans can also find Hector on the Masterpieces compilation and HammerFall's 2012 live album, Gates of Dalhalla.

Vic Rattlehead or Hector? Cast your vote in the poll below!

Voting for this round ends on Monday, Mar. 23 at 8AM ET. Fans can vote once per hour, so keep coming back to make sure that your favorite metal mascot wins!
