Metallica want you to get 2012 off to a headbanging start. While New Year's Day is still a few months away, the metal heavyweights have unveiled the official Metallica 2012 wall calendar, complete with rocking performance shots of the band mixed with behind-the-scenes shots.

“It's never too early to start planning for next year,” Metallica stated, in a release. “The 2012 Calendar is now available and features a ton of stunning live shots by Ross Halfin. Also, this week we have a battery of cool accessories on sale! Express your inner metal and save on items crucial to your existence like water bottles, travel mugs, throw blankets, backpacks, wallets, key chains and more."

The 2012 calendar features twelve striking, full-color photos of the guys, presented in a standard wall size of 12 inches by 12 inches. The calendar includes enough space to sketch in various appointments and dates. For example, use it to mark off your important metal concerts on the horizon for 2012, right guys? The calendar runs $14.99, plus tax and shipping. It's available at Metallica’s official website site. More paraphernalia available on the site includes Metallica coffee mugs, tote bags, laptop backpacks and more.

Metallica recently brought their lusted-after Big 4 show, which also features Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer, to Yankees Stadium in the Bronx. Miss the festivities? Check out Loudwire’s review of the 7-hour show and peek at photos from the metal action.
