A few days ago, an interview with Scottish post-rock act Mogwai made waves online due to the band's criticism of Metallica. Drummer Lars Ulrich was targeted personally by Mogwai's Barry Burns, who called the Metallica member "unbelievably bad" and "terrible." After Mogwai's comments reached Ulrich, the drummer took some time to share his thoughts on the verbal attack.

Metallica and Mogwai are scheduled to perform on different stages simultaneously during this year's Glastonbury Festival. Perhaps through frustration from having to compete with metal's biggest band, Mogwai shot a few bullets Metallica's way during an interview with Gigwise.

In other Glastonbury news, a petition has been started to kick Metallica off the festival due to frontman James Hetfield's involvement with the upcoming History Channel program 'The Hunt,' which documents the Alaskan hunting of Kodiak brown bears.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Lars Ulrich addressed both issues. "Glastonbury -- it's like the Holy Grail in England, and obviously we're respectful to that. But if somebody sits there and talks about petitions or what some other guy says, there's a point where it sort of becomes ridiculous."

Ulrich continues, "We're fairly thick-skinned and just kind of turn a blind eye to it, but obviously, if [it's] Mick Jagger [of The Rolling Stones] has something to say, or Alex Turner [of Arctic Monkeys], or the very nice guys in Kasabian, who I love, it's cool. But at some point, if some guy in some other band… it's like, 'Huh? What? Who are you?' At some point it becomes a little bit ridiculous."

The 2014 Glastonbury Festival will take place from June 25-29. For more info, click here.
