Since 1999, the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest has served as one of the biggest attractions in the Northeast for fans of aggressive music, uniting an eclectic range of heavy acts for a punishing weekend-long assault. The first wave of bands for the 20th installment of the festival have been announced with Morbid Angel and Kamelot topping the bill on Friday (April 20) and Saturday (April 21) respectively.

Friday's lineup weighs heavily on the extreme side. Billed under Morbid Angel are Dying Fetus, Thy Art Is Murder, Carnifex, Nile, Soulfly, Oceano, Fit For An Autopsy, Winds Of Plague, Enterprise Earth, Rivers Of Nihil, Shadow Of Intent, Archspire, Spite, Great American Ghost, Sanction, Bodysnatcher, I Am, Downswing, Buried Above Ground and Distinguisher.

Saturday's lineup looks light for now with more announcements to be made, but appearing alongside Kamelot are Life Of Agony, Delain, Doyle, Candiria, Powerglove, Battle Beast and Dead By Wednesday.

As always, NEMHF will be held at The Palladium in Worcester, Mass. and tickets will go on sale on Friday (Jan. 26) at 12PM ET. For more info, head to the fest's website and keep an eye on Loudwire as we wait for more bands to be added to the two-day lineup.
