With Chester Bennington's death this past week, the musical tributes have started coming from a number of his peers. Motionless in White offered theirs Friday night (July 21) during an appearance at the Concrete Street Amphitheater in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Singer Chris Motionless spoke at length about Linkin Park's impact on his band prior to the performance of "One Step Closer," which can be seen in the fan-shot video above.

“So this is usually the part of show every day where we like to play a cover song by a band that we really love, and we’re still going to do that, but in light of the tragic news yesterday about Chester from Linkin Park," stated Motionless. "In light of that very sad news, we’re going to do something we haven’t done in quite a while. I don’t think to our fans it’s been any secret that Linkin Park have been a very strong influence on our material over the last couple of years. Linkin Park has meant a lot to a lot of us in this band. It’s one of the first bands in the genre that got me into a lot of the band’s that came after. I owe a lot to the Hybrid Theory album as a person and I know it means a lot to the guys in this band. And not just Hybrid Theory, but a lot of albums that followed – a lot of masterpieces from Linkin Park.”

“It really does suck to see so many amazing musicians die off, watching them having to say goodbye time and time after again. We have really f—king heavy hearts, so we’d like to play this song right now to honor Chester and Linkin Park,” added Motionless, before concluding, “If anyone out there is struggling with the same thoughts, the same issues, please, do not make the same decision. Reach out to your friends, to your family, go to your favorite band’s social pages and reach out to some of the fans of the same band you love. If it’s something I’ve learned in 11 years of touring, especially last summer is that there are a lot of people who are just as much a fan of a band as you are that are willing to reach out and help you through your personal s—t and I want every one of you to be there for each other every single time that hand extends."

Motionless in White follow on the heels of recent Chester Bennington concert tributes by Korn and Stone Sour.
