On day two of the adventure that is Motorhead’s Motorboat Cruise, the ship skipped a planned stop to Key West, Fla., due to stormy weather. Instead, the Carnival Ecstasy spent a day at sea to make its way to Cozumel, Mexico. Besides, there was way too much to do on the ship to bother with land.

Fans started the day lined up for a few meet and greets with comedian Jim Breuer, the almighty Testament and Zakk Wylde who performed acoustically later in the day on the Deck Stage.

Besides the music, Motorboaters had a blast with “Beers and Bingo” hosted by none other than the band Wilson, who dressed in full costume. Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian also had metal heads chuckling with his spoken word performance in the Starlight Lounge. Meanwhile, by the poolside, Megadeth members Chris Broderick and David Ellefson had the very important job of judging a belly flop competition.

Down obliterated the very hot and humid Deck Stage outside early on in the day. Phil Anselmo and company ripped through their first set of the cruise and it was surely a memorable one. Guitarist Pepper Keenan shredded up close and personal with fans and it was evident the band as a whole had a hell of a good time on and offstage. Later on, the Deck Stage held a piano and Black Label Society flags as Zakk Wylde performed an incredible acoustic set.

It was a big evening for music as Motorhead completely crushed in the packed Blue Sapphire Theater. “Captain Lemmy” graced the stage with his mateys to perform an ear-pounding set for their passionate fans. After ‘Over the Top,’ guitarist Phil Campbell shredded it up with a blistering solo, while Mikkey Dee’s drum solo was thunderous during ‘Doctor Rock.’  Motorhead cranked out favorites, ‘Metropolis,’ ‘Killed By Death,’ ‘Ace of Spades’ and ended their set with ‘Overkill.’

The Metal Allegiance supergroup, which featured damn near every artist on the boat including rotating vocalist slots featuring Chuck Billy, Joey Belladonna and Frank Bello. Meanwhile, Charlie Benante, Mike Portnoy and John Tempesta took turns behind the drums. David Ellefson and Chris Broderick also graced the stage, as well as Jon Donais and Kill Devil Hill guitarist Mark Zavon. Hearing classics by Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio, KISS and numerous others was a true treat.

The part of the night that got the entire ship shaking was Rex Brown and Phil Anselmo hitting the stage to perform classic Pantera songs with the rest of the metal heroes. Fans went apes---t during ‘A New Level,’ ‘Primal Concrete Sledge,’ ‘Mouth For War’ and then all the musicians were onstage to perform ‘F---ing Hostile.’
