It's been a long journey to get here, but Myles Kennedy is about to release his first solo album. Kennedy, who has played with Mayfield Four, Slash and Alter Bridge, will step out for a solo disc and he starts things off by serving up the reflective new video for the Year of the Tiger album title track.

The clip alternates between current and previous days, with Kennedy walking a dusty road at dusk, dragging his guitar behind him. Meanwhile, previous days show a little boy and his father on the same road, with the young boy eventually showing his independence, grabbing a guitar and dragging the instrument much like the elder Kennedy. The Dan Sturgess-directed clip also features Kennedy playing in an empty dimly lit bar. The concept for the video came about after a discussion between the singer and his manager as Kennedy reflected on his travels and the loss of his father in 1974, aka the year of the tiger.

As you can tell, Kennedy strips things back a bit for the "Year of the Tiger" song, letting a more acoustic guitar vibe take the lead. The album also finds the musician playing banjo, lap steel, bass and mandolin and dabbles in more blues, country and Americana influences in addition to his harder rock stylings.

Kennedy recently announced his solo debut. Year of the Tiger is due March 9 through Napalm Records and you can currently pre-order digitally here or with a variety of physical bundle options at this location. Those who order digitally will get the title cut as an instant grat track. You can check out the track listing and artwork below.
