Sad news to report from Napalm Death. After nearly 25 years of manning the guitar and backing vocals for the legendary grind band, Mitch Harris will not be performing with Napalm Death "for the near future" due to an illness in Harris' family.

This news comes just one day after Napalm Death announced a monstrously heavy co-headlining North American tour with Voivod. The 'Through Space and Grind' tour will also feature Exhumed, Iron Reagan and Black Crown Initiate, with further appearances from Ringworm, Dayglo Abortions, Theories and Phobia also booked.

Napalm Death informed fans of Harris' short-term departure via Facebook:

Due to illness within his family, we would like to announce that Mitch Harris will unfortunately not be performing with us for the near future. We stress that this is not a permanent arrangement, although we are unsure exactly when Mitch will return under the circumstances.

Naturally, we sympathize and wish Mitch all the best for now. In the
meantime we will be joined by guitarists who we know can grind it out in his absence.

Thanks for your understanding
Napalm Death

We'd like to send our best wishes to Mitch Harris and his family during this difficult time. Napalm Death will unleash their 15th studio album, 'Apex Predator - Easy Meat' on Jan. 27. Also, check out Harris' side project Menace by clicking here.
