It's been over three decades since Overkill released Feel the Fire, their first record, and the New Jersey thrash vets are still going strong. With their staggering 18th album, The Grinding Wheel, set for release next year, they're backing it up with a headlining 2017 U.S. tour with Egyptian death metal icons Nile serving as direct support.

The trek will kick off on Feb. 14 in Philadelpia, Pa. and will center around the midwest before working the west coast, circling back through the south and landing in the northeast, closing it all out in Overkill's home state in Sayreville at the legendary Starland Ballroom on March 11. See all the dates along the tour below, which also lists Lordi as a special guest in Cleveland, Ohio on Feb. 15. Also of special note are five stops along the tail of the tour, which will feature Swedish melodic metal legends Amorphis and Swallow the Sun as their tours converge.

Excited as always, frontman Bobby Blitz exclaimed, "Can't wait to roll 'the wheel' down the road. This February & March, U.S.A., coming to a stage near you! Let's make it another one to remember! Onward! Upward!"

“All of us in Nile are really looking forward to the upcoming U.S.A. tour with Overkill. This Tour is going to be metal as f--k,” added Nile leader Karl Sanders. Nile will be touring as they continue to support 2015's What Should Not Be Unearthed.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. Pre-orders for The Grinding Wheel (out Feb. 10) can be placed at the Nuclear Blast webstore for both physical and digital orders.

Blitz spoke with Full Metal Jackie about the lyrical influences on The Grinding Wheel, stating, “I think I’m writing about things that are quite pertinent to what I go through all the time and what other people go through all the time. It could also be something as totally from left field, I remember watching Black Mass with Johnny Depp and the next thing I know I’m down here smashing on the computer and scratching out notes on the back of cocktail napkins and recording lyrics.”
