The Ride for Dime Motorcycle Run set for March 31 will not only honor the late, great Dimebag Darrell Abbott of Pantera fame. It will benefit Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, a nonprofit that serves abused, abandoned and neglected kids in the Tampa Bay area. The Ride for Dime events take place nationally and benefit local children's charities and this marks the inaugural Ride for Dime in Florida. The rides make sure that Dime's memory lives on and also help those in need.

The Florida memorial will begin at the Dean Guitars headquarters at 10 AM. Those who register, for a nominal fee of $20, will be able to tour the Dean factory and enjoy other sources of entertainment. The ride will end at Brandon Harley-Davidson and will conclude with a concert performed by local artists and an appearance by national Ride for Dime President Rob Eichelberger.

“We are very excited about expanding our rides to Florida and at the same time helping abused children,” said Eichelberger in a statement.

“We are honored to have the Ride for Dime organization select our charity for their support and introducing our mission to more giving individuals and organizations like Dean Guitars,” stated Wayne Witczak, Executive Director/CEO of Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, Inc.

There will also be a live/silent auction and special drawings to raise additional funds for Kids Charity of Tampa Bay.

Long live Dime! He's probably smiling up there in heaven knowing that these annual events do so much for children who are less fortunate.
