Slipknot percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan is grooming his oldest son Gage to take over his role in the band whenever he hangs up his mask.

“He was sitting on the stairs in diapers wearing my mask with sticks while we were downstairs trying to learn how to be a band,” explains Crahan. “When I leave, it won’t be like I died and my son came in and tried to fill my place. I’m gonna bail, but I’m gonna hand over the throne and say, ‘Hey, I can’t do it anymore. You do it. You’re my blood.”

Crahan, now the father of four children, also recently commented that he shed tears when seeing Gage record music with his own band, stating, “Watching my son sing was so personal and real it made me so proud.”
