Revolver’s Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock tour truly heated things up when Sick Puppies, Lacuna Coil, Eyes Set to Kill and Cilver made a stop in chilly New York City on Monday, Feb. 24, at Irving Plaza.

The night kicked off with contest-winning  group Charetta, an alternative rock band hailing from the Big Apple.  Fellow independent New York rock band Cilver also took the stage and had fans rocking out. At the end of Cilver’s set, frontwoman Uliana impressed fans by gracefully diving into the crowd.

Arizona metal act Eyes Set to Kill, featuring sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez, impressed the Irving Plaza crowd with a striking set. They performed a setlist made up of infectious new tracks from their new album ‘Masks.’ Songs performed included the title track, the thrasher ‘Killing in Your Name,’ ‘Surface,’ ‘Haze’ and more. The talented sisters along with the rest of the group perform with vivacious energy and rawness, similar to the vibe they display on the album 'Masks.'

Italian metallers Lacuna Coil rocked the audience with an invigorating set. Songstress Cristina Scabbia donned a lacey black dress as she belted out tracks ‘Trip the Darkness,’ ‘Kill the Light,’ ’Intoxicated’ and ‘Upsidedown’ from their latest disc ‘Dark Adrenaline.’ A few crowdsurfers even made their way to the stage as co-singer Andrea Ferro raised the energy even more as he brought the aggression and heavy vocals.

Even though the band recently announced the retirement of their long time guitarist Cris “Pizza” Migliore and drummer Cristiano ‘Criz’ Mozzati, Lacuna Coil fired on all cylanders. They also gave fans a taste of their new record ‘Broken Crown Halo’ (due April 1) by performing brand new tracks ‘Die & Rise’ and ‘Nothing Stands in Our Way.’ You wouldn't know that Lacuna Coil were not the evening's headliner as the crowd went wild for the band. They had the majority of fans on the floor bouncing as they ended their extraordinary set with ‘Our Truth.’

However, there was definitely some divide within the crowd. Many Sick Puppies fans looked on quietly and a little confused at the zealous Lacuna Coil fans. Likewise, several Lacuna Coil fans didn’t stick around long enough to see Sick Puppies do their thing.

Headlining rock trio Sick Puppies may not be as heavy as Lacuna Coil sonically but their fans are just as enthusiastic. The band is currently on tour in promotion of their latest album, ‘Connect,’ and they certainly did connect with fans through new tracks ‘Die to Save You,’ ‘There’s No Going Back’ and ‘The Trick the Devil Did.’

Crowd surfers continued into the Sick Puppies set as they performed older favorites such as ‘Nothing Really Matters’ off of their debut record ‘Welcome to the Real World’ as well as ‘Pitiful’ and ‘My World' off of sophomore disc ‘Dressed Up As Life.’

Australian frontman Shim Moore and bassist Emma Anzai have been creating music for quite some time since they bonded over their love of Silverchair in high school. The music that they have created and continue to create brings out an exuberant liveliness in their fans. The band performed ‘Riptide’ and ‘Maybe’ from their third studio disc ‘Tri-Polar’ and ended their set with the notable ‘You’re Going Down.’
