Skillet are coming off one of the bigger albums of their career and are ready to take the next step with their latest effort, 'Rise.' The disc now carries a June 25 street date and the band has selected 'Sick of It' to be the lead single off the disc.

'Sick of It' heads to radio and will be available on iTunes as of April 9, but in the interim fans are encouraged to head to the song's micro-site to check out a clip and get involved with a 'Sick of It' promotion. The group is asking fans to submit photos of what they are "sick of," using the hashtags #sickofit and #skillet. Some of the fan photos will then be selected for the upcoming music video for the track.

Frontman John Cooper reveals that 'Rise' serves as the band's first concept album. The story behind the disc follows an American teen coming into adulthood and trying to figure out who he is and where he fits in a world that's sometimes within and sometimes without his control.

“The narrative idea happened after we had 10 or 11 of the songs chosen,” says Cooper. “As we recorded them, we started to realize that there was something going on—that the album was really telling a story. Realizing that, I knew we needed to make it as powerful as we could.”

Leading up to the album and beyond, Skillet will be on the road supporting 'Rise.' The band has a handful of North American festival appearances in April and May before taking on a brief European trek in late May and June. They'll return for more North American festival dates that will keep them on the road throughout this summer. Their full itinerary can be seen here.
