The news of Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington replacing Scott Weiland's spot in Stone Temple Pilots has been receiving a ton of buzz since it was revealed during a live performance on May 18. Having also experienced a complex musical relationship with Scott Weiland in Velvet Revolver, Slash offered his two cents on the new STP lineup via Twitter.

Stone Temple Pilots shocked the 2013 KROQ Weenie Roast crowd as Bennington walked out onto the stage as STP's new vocalist, and later the world as the band released a new song, 'Out of Time.' Bennington would later state in an interview with STP that he plans to remain with Stone Temple Pilots for the longterm.

Strangely enough, it was Slash who first revealed that Scott Weiland had been fired from Stone Temple Pilots late last year. Slash turned out to be correct, as STP officially announced Weiland's firing in late February. As a musician with some insider credibility concerning STP, Slash recently tweeted out his thoughts on the band's new material:

Stone Temple Pilots are planning to create even more music with Chester Bennington, so stay tuned as new STP songs are made public.
