There was no contest for Best Metal Band of 2015 in the 5th Annual Loudwire Music Awards, as Slipknot dominated the category accumulating just over 45 percent of the votes from the readers. After releasing '.5: The Gray Chapter' in 2014 and dominating last year's Loudwire Music Awards, the band hit the road hard in 2015. As one of metal's biggest touring acts, Slipknot are still on the upswing more than 15 years after their debut album was released.

As a must-see live act, Slipknot are a spectacle onstage. All the members are in perpetual motion, running around the stage like madmen, tossing huge barrels around and lighting things on fire. Frontman Corey Taylor's possessed barking married with hook-laden clean vocals create a dynamic sense of danger and comfort allowing fans to go nuts in the pit and sing along when the opportunity arises.

Congratulations to Slipknot on being voted the Best Metal Band of 2015 in the 5th Annual Loudwire Music Awards. The band will be touring Europe in early 2016, so check out all the dates at Slipknot's official website.
