Phil Anselmo is a busy man. While we spoke to the singer about the 20th anniversary reissue of Pantera's 'Vulgar Display of Power,' we also asked about Down's upcoming planned series of EPs. Turns out that there are lots of ideas floating around, with one EP recorded and ready to go.

The 2012 Scion Rock Fest is set to hit Tampa, Fla., and its free to the public. This year's spectacle takes place on June 2, just in time for the summer swelter. Down and Sleep are set to headline the event, where 26 metal bands will perform at four different venues throughout the course of the day. The city of Tampa will never, ever be the same.

Heavy metal supergroup Down, led by ex-Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo, have unveiled some very in-depth details about their upcoming EP. Since 2008, the band has been working on a ton of new music, which will materialize in the form of four separate EPs.

Down frontman Phil Anselmo has recorded a 45-second video message updating fans on the band's upcoming, yet-untitled EP and wishing fans happy holidays. Anselmo posted the recording shortly after recording vocals at Nodferatu's lair, the barn studio on his 17 acre property in south Louisiana.

As a teenager, Rex Brown cut his eye teeth as the bassist for Pantera. When the band broke up, he continued with vocalist Phil Anselmo in the group Down. Now, having left down because Anselmo was busy with too many projects, he is putting all of his efforts into Kill Devil Hill, his new band with ex-Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice, guitarist Mark Zavon and vocalist Dewey Bragg.
