We're not quite sure if Maynard James Keenan was wearing a Halloween outfit or not when Puscifer hit the stage of the 'Late Show With David Letterman' on Monday, but he certainly looked strange. Either way, dressing up is certainly the right thing to do when your band is making its network television debut, as Puscifer did on the show Halloween night when they rolled out a downright haunting performance of the title track off their new album, 'Conditions of My Parole.'
"Rock star" is a common Halloween costume for kids and grown-up kids alike, but what do real rock-stars-in-the-making dress up as? Rock stars, of course! At least that was the case for Alice in Chains drummer Sean Kinney, who says that most years of his childhood he spent the last day of October dressed up as Peter Criss from Kiss.
Maynard James Keenan on Puscifer, APC and Tool
The frontman for Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, Maynard James Keenan has been pretty secretive about his upbringing, but has hinted that he grew up in an abusive, unsupportive environment. Even so, we’re pretty sure his home life didn’t look too much like the one depicted in the new Puscifer video, ‘Conditions of My Parole,’ which can be seen below.
Maynard James Keenan is the king of multitasting, as he juggles frontman duties with A Perfect Circle, Tool and his electro-rock baby Puscifer. Earlier this year, as if dates with the rekindled A Perfect Circle weren’t enough, Keenan hid out in his wine-cellar-turned-studio and reappeared with Puscifer’s second studio LP, the musically star-studded ‘Conditions of My Parole.’
Tool / A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan’s Puscifer project is gearing up for Tuesday's release of its second album, ‘Conditions of My Parole,' and the long-in-the-works disc is currently streaming online at Spin.com (see link below). 'Parole' is the follow-up to Puscifer's debut album, '"V" Is for Vagina,' which dropped in 2007.
