The last time we heard anything new from Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, he was walking around in a winter wonderland on his holiday disc ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.’ He now returns to his rock roots with a new song penned for the soundtrack for the upcoming summer blockbuster movie ‘The Avengers.’

The previously unreleased video for Stone Temple Pilots' song 'Cinnamon' has found its way online. There was an original version filmed in summer 2010, but the band wasn't feeling the result so the video was scrapped and it was reshot in late 2010 with new director. The song was the third single off 2010's self-titled affair.
When it comes to Christmas surprises, Scott Weiland's decision to record 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,' an album of holiday standards, could be one of the most unexpected presents of all time. But while on the surface the Stone Temple Pilots frontman and yuletide cheer don't seem to go together like frankincense and myrrh, Weiland sees nothing odd about the pairing. When asked why he decided to release the album, he fires back with a simple: "Um, well, why not?"
Move over Bing Crosby! While Christmas classics might not be what comes to mind when you first think of Scott Weiland, on his latest release, 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,' the Stone Temple Pilots frontman shows off a completely different side. Crooning out well orchestrated Christmas tunes in a style reminiscent of the 1930s and 1940s, Weiland delivers on timeless Christmas carols harkening back to days gone by.
