Watch Chester Bennington Front All-Star Covers Band Hellcat Saints
Who doesn't love the spirit of collaboration? In Los Angeles, it served Camp Freddy well, and we've since seen Royal Machines, Kings of Chaos, Hellcat Saints and Ultimate Jam Night take up the all-star covers mantle. The idea is to get a number of well known musicians together to salute the power of some of rock and metal's greatest songs in the name of having a good time and on occasion charity. Earlier this week, Hellcat Saints took the stage with an all-star lineup featuring Linkin Park's Chester Bennington on vocals.
The show was part of an event to promote the action-horror video game Let It Die as part of E3 week, and the band performed at the Conga Room in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (June 14). Hellcat Saints' came together last fall for the Rhonda's Kiss benefit concert, led by Velvet Revolver's Dave Kushner with a revolving door of participants. For the Let It Die party, Kushner welcomed Bennington on vocals, along with Nine Inch Nails and Guns N' Roses alum Robin Finck, Ozzy Osbourne's Rob "Blasko" Nicholson, Queens of the Stone Age drummer Joey Castillo, Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke and Apocalyptica vocalist Franky Perez to the stage.
As you can see from fan-shot footage below, Bennington fronted the band on such songs as Stone Temple Pilots' "Down," Alice in Chains' "Them Bones," Black Sabbath's "Hole in the Sky" and Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" among others. Check out the video below.
Bennington is currently working with his Linkin Park bandmates on the band's next album. He ended his tenure pulling double duty in Stone Temple Pilots last fall. No timeline has been announced for Linkin Park's next disc, even though it is currently in progress.
