Though the night was billed as "A Tribute to Fallen Heroes," Metal Allegiance got their show off and running with a pair of originals from their self-titled 2015 debut disc.

Death Angel's Mark Osegueda came out to lead the opening track, "Pledge of Allegiance," seen above, belting the edict, "Let's f--king celebrate" before the song kicked into full throttle heaviness. The core four Metal Allegiance members Mike Portnoy, Alex Skolnick, David Ellefson and Mark Menghi powered through the song with the assistance of Machine Head's Phil Demmel. The performance was off to the races with Portnoy's rapid fire drumming and some wicked guitar licks setting the pit-ready pace, leading into the anthemic chorus.

Keeping the momentum going, the band transitioned right into the more ominous and thrashy "Can't Kill the Devil" with Testament's Chuck Billy stepping in for Osegueda. Mid-song, Skolnick turns in some electrifying guitar work during a solo before Demmel steps up to match the intensity. Watch it all play out in the video below.

If you dig the performances, both songs can be found on Metal Allegiance's self-titled debut, which is available via Amazon and iTunes.
